XZ^TM Microfluidic Dialysis Protein Crystallization Plates

The XZ™ plate is a dialysis-based microfluidic protein crystallization device that uses patent-pending microfluidic technology to reduce the consumption of precious protein samples by more than 5000 times the volumes of current commercially available dialysis protein crystallization devices.

1×96 XZ™ Screening Plate (product #XZ196_0240_8k): a microfluidic dialysis plate that can perform a protein crystallization screen for one protein against 96 reagents. The diameter of the dialysis chamber is 240mm for a total volume per reaction of 20nL (the combined volume of the dialysis chamber and reservoir I). 4mL of protein solution is needed for sample loading. The molecular weight cutoff for the dialysis membrane is 8,000 (MWCO 8,000).

1×24 XZ™ Optimization and Growth Plate (product #XZ124_1000_8k): a microfluidic dialysis plate that can perform a protein crystallization optimization or growth experiment for one protein against 24 reagents. The diameter of the dialysis chamber is 1.0mm for a total volume per reaction of 520nL (the combined volume of the dialysis chamber and reservoir I). 14mL of protein solution is needed for sample loading. The molecular weight cutoff for the dialysis membrane is 8,000 (MWCO 8,000).

XZ™ Dialysis Protein Crystallization Starter Kit (product #XZ_kit_8k): a complete package to start running microfluidic dialysis protein crystallization experiments. The kit includes 1×96 XZ™ Screening Plate (2), 1×24 XZ™ Optimization and Growth Plate (2), SBS adaptor plate (1), vacuum tip with tubing adaptor (2), disposable, sterilized needle (5), reagent well sealing tape (10), sealing tape applicator (1) and inspection plate (1).

Accessories

• SBS adaptor plate (product#XZ01-01): to adapt to robot dispensing stations and centrifuge instruments
• Vacuum tip with ¼” vacuum tube adaptor (product#XZ01-02): to connect vacuum source to XZ™ plates, connecting to vacuum tubes with an ID of ¼”.
• Disposable needle (sterilized) (product#XZ01-03): to puncture protein port film to initiate protein sample loading.
• Reagent Well Sealing Tape (product#XZ01-04): a 2 mil thick optically transparent sealing film for XZ™ plates. The tape is a non-fluorescing polyester film with a 1 mil thick reagent-compatible acrylic adhesive. The dimension of the tape is 40mm×60mm.
• Sealing Tape Applicator (product ##XZ01-05): a 2” wide rigid plastic film applicator that can provide the best seal for the XZ™ Plates.
• Inspection Plate (product#XZ01-06): to reduce plate heat exposure during inspection.
